Universal Plans Movie on Real-Life Couple With Tragic Love Story (Exclusive)
Todd Rosenberg wrote the script for 'All My Life,' based on a couple who rushed to plan their dream wedding in the face of devastating news.
Universal has picked up the rights to All My Life, a spec script based on one couple's bittersweet love story.
Todd Rosenberg wrote the script, based on the story of Solomon Chau and Jennifer Carter, who were planning to be married on Aug. 21, 2015. Instead, that ended up being the day of Chau's funeral.
The couple, who had been planning their wedding since April 2014, found out that Chau had liver cancer in December that year. To make sure they got the wedding of their dreams, they moved the date up to April 11, 2015, and they raised more than $52,000 for the Toronto wedding through a GoFundMe account. They were married for four months before he died.
The film will focus on the love, life and laughter that circle a young couple as they plan their wedding in the face of devastating news.
A video of the couple's wedding (posted below) went viral after news outlets found out about their tragic story in August 2015.
Todd Garner and Sean Robins will produce for their Broken Road Productions banner. Universal's vp production Sara Scott and creative executive Lexi Barta will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.
Rosenberg is repped by Gersh, Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment and Gang, Tyre.
