Universal Sets Psychological Thrilller 'The Loft' for August 2014

Dark Castle Entertainment and Anonymous Content produced the film, which stars Karl Urban and James Marsden.

Psychological thriller The Loft will roll out in theaters Aug. 29, 2014, the beginning of the long Labor Day weekend.

The pic -- headlining Karl Urban and James Marsden -- was stuck in limbo when Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment left its deal at Warner Bros. Dark Castle has a new partnership with Universal, which will now handle The Loft. Anonymous Content produced the film with Dark Castle.

STORY: Universal Moving Forward With Fifth 'Bourne' Film

Directed by Erik Van Looy, the movie tells the story of five married men who share a penthouse loft where they can carry out affairs and indulge in their deepest family secrets. But their fantasy turns into a nightmare when they discover the dead body of an unknown woman in the loft. Everyone becomes paranoid as they suspect one another of the crime.

Wentworth Miller, Rhona Mitra and Isabel Lucas also star.
