Trump had the network's anchor thrown out of an Iowa press event on Tuesday.

Univision brass is not pleased with how Donald Trump treated one of the network's anchors on Tuesday at an Iowa press event.

On Wednesday, Univision Communications president and CEO Randy Falco issued a statement criticizing Trump for having Jorge Ramos kicked out of the press conference after Ramos questioned the presidential candidate on immigration.

"The recent treatment that Jorge Ramos received at Mr. Trump's press conference is beneath contempt," Falco's statement reads. "As a presidential candidate, Mr. Trump is going to get tough questions from the press and has to answer them."

"Mr. Trump represented complete disregard for [Ramos] and for the countless Hispanics whom Jorge seeks to represent through press questions that are at the heart of the First Amendment," the statement continues.

Ramos appeared on Fox News' Kelly File on Wednesday evening, where he slammed Trump's "empty promises" on immigration and said that Trump's decision to have him thrown out was more akin to the actions of "dictatorships" than of a U.S. president.

"His words are dangerous, and his ideas are extreme when it comes to immigration and when it comes to freedom of the press," Ramos said. "The only thing I wanted to do was ask a question."

"I followed the rules, and he just didn't like the questions," Ramos continued. During the Fox News interview, Ramos also referred frequently to the fact that Trump has shared critical words for host Megyn Kelly.

Falco's full statement can be seen below.

The recent treatment that Jorge Ramos received at Mr. Trump's press conference in Iowa is beneath contempt. As a Presidential candidate, Mr. Trump is going to get tough questions from the press and has to answer them. Jorge Ramos is one the most professional, dedicated and respected journalists I have seen or worked with in my 40 years in media. He always asks hard questions of candidates and elected officials, regardless of party or issue.

Mr. Trump demonstrated complete disregard for him and for the countless Hispanics whom Jorge seeks to represent through press questions that are at the heart of the First Amendment. I remain grateful for the first-rate journalistic work that Jorge and all of his news colleagues at Univision and Fusion do to bring all points of view to the 57 million Hispanics in this country.
