Univision's 'Nuestra Belleza Latina' Season Finale Trumps English-Language Broadcast Networks
The two-hour closer drew 4.9 million viewers, up double digits from last season's finale.
The fifth season finale of Univision's Nuestra Belleza Latina reality series performed well on Sunday.
The two-hour telecast, which crowned Miami's Nastassja Bolivar as Neustra Belleza Latina 2011, drew 4.9 million total viewers, up 23 percent from last season's finale.
In the key adults 18-49 demographic, Latina drew 2.5 million, up 18 percent, and 1.5 million in women 18-49, up 20 percent. In other demos, the series also saw double-digit gains: men 18-49 (991,000; up 18 percent), adults 18-34 (1.4 million, up 14 percent) and persons 12-34 (1.7 million, up 12 percent).
Importantly, the finale topped CBS and NBC in the adults 18-34 demo on Sunday for third place and Univision ranked fourth, over CBS, in the adults 18-49 demo. Univision also ranked second in women 18-49 and women 18-34, trumping CBS, Fox and NBC. What's more, Latina outdrew the finales of Fox's Bob's Burgers (4.3 million) and American Dad (3.6 million) in total viewers.
The competition series grew double digits in all key demos in Season 5 compared to the previous season.
