USA Announces Summer Premieres for 'Burn Notice,' New Series

It's going to be a busy summer for USA.

The cable network has announced summer premiere dates for its original series, including returning favorite Burn Notice and new shows Suits and Necessary Roughness.

Burn Notice, returning for its fifth season, will premiere Thursday, June 23 at 9 p.m. with new legal series Suits (formerly known as A Legal Mind) following at 10 p.m. Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe, which was announced at Comic-Con last year and was directed by series star Jeffrey Donovan, will air Sunday, April 17 at 9 p.m.

Suits, starring Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, revolves around a top Manhattan corporate lawyer (Macht) who recruits a new hotshot associate and hires the only guy that impresses him, a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout (Adams). In order to serve justice and save their jobs, both unconventional thinkers must continue the charade. Meghan Markle, Gina Torres and Rick Hoffman also star in the Doug Liman and David Bartis-produced series. Creator Aaron Korsh penned the pilot and serves as co-executive producer with Gene Klein as producer.

Hamptons-set concierge doctor drama Royal Pains premieres Wednesday, June 29 at 9 p.m. with Necessary Roughness, starring Callie Thorne, launching at 10 p.m.

Inspired by a true story, Necessary Roughness centers on a Long Island divorcee (Thorne) who gets a job as a therapist for a professional football team in order to make ends meet. Marc Blucas, Mehcad Brooks and Scott Cohen co-star. The series is created by Liz Kruger & Craig Shapiro, along with Donna Dannenfelser and Joe Sabatino. Kevin Dowling helmed the pilot and serves as exec producer.

It was previously announced that White Collar and Covert Affairs would return for their third and second seasons, respectively, on Tuesday, June 7 beginning at 9 p.m.

Kicking off the summer is the season debuts of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and In Plain Sight , which launch Sunday, May 1.

Usual summer staple Psych, which will return for its sixth season, will premiere some time this fall.

Freshman drama Fairly Legal, which recently finished its run on USA, is still awaiting a decision on its fate.
