Van Damme role close to home
PARIS -- "The Muscles from Brussels" is going back to his roots to play himself in a comedy spoof of his true life. Belgian born actor Jean-Claude Van Damme has signed on to star in his first ever French-language film, "Van Damage," produced by Marc Fiszman, the brains behind last year's boxoffice sensation "Jean-Philippe." After failing as an action star in Hollywood, Van Damme decides to pack up and head back to his native Belgium where he gets involved in a bank robbery at the Central Bank of Brussels and must prove himself to be the action star that he is. Fiszman's French production company Bankable Films plans to start shooting in Belgium in October. A director and cast are attached, but were not able to be confirmed at this time.
