The CNN political commentator was previously with CAA.

CNN political analyst Van Jones has left CAA for WME, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.

Jones, a longtime civil rights and environmental activist, has become a prominent voice on the cable news network. Since the most recent election, he has hosted The Messy Truth, a series of specials on CNN that feature him reaching out to Donald Trump supporters in an attempt to find common ground, or at least understanding.

The Yale Law graduate has founded several social enterprises over the last two decades, including criminal justice reform NGO Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, racial justice nonprofit Color of Change, think tank Rebuild the Dream and The Dream Corps, an incubator for various policy initiatives, including #YesWeCode (training disadvantaged youth in computer programming) and Green for All (creating green jobs for people living in poverty).

During the early days of President Barack Obama’s administration, Jones was tapped to serve as White House advisor on green jobs, a concept he helped to codify in advocating for the Green Jobs Act, which President George W. Bush signed into law in 2007. He also has penned two New York Times best-sellers, The Green Collar Economy (2008) and Rebuild the Dream (2012).
