Vantage buys into 'Stiff' sentences
EmptyParamount Vantage has purchased the rights to British author Grant Stoddard's debut book, "Working Stiff: A Memoir," with screenwriters Emily Cook and Kathy Greenberg attached to adapt.
Published in January by Harper Perennial, "Stiff" chronicles Stoddard's journey from London student dropout to celebrated sex columnist in New York. In his weekly column, "I Did It for Science," the author recounts his hilarious and often exotic sexual misadventures and the lasting effects they had on him.
Ross Martin, head of programming for mtvU, will executive produce. He took the book, before its release, to Vantage production head Amy Israel, who brought the project into the studio.
Stoddard is repped by CAA, Claudia Cross of Sterling Lord Listeristic and Del, Shaw, Moonves, Tanaka, Finkelstein & Lezcano.
Cook and Greenberg ("Ratatouille") are repped by Gersh.
