Verve Agency Launches Global Division
The arm will be run by international sales veteran Amy Beecroft.
Verve, the boutique lit and talent agency, has launched Verve Ventures, a new division aimed at global development.
The arm will be run by international sales veteran Amy Beecroft, who has worked at such worldwide-focused companies as First Look/Overseas Film Group, HBO, GreeneStreet Films and FilmNation, among others.
According to the agency, Verve Ventures will focus on creative strategic partnerships in the international and domestic film and television space, including finance, sales and digital distribution. Also on the agenda is the development of new technologies, such as virtual reality, on a global scale. (The agency reps a leading VR studio, Felix & Paul studios.)
“The international landscape has changed drastically in the last five years,” said Beecroft. “With 70 percent of the box office coming from the international marketplace, savvy foreign distributors, producers and financiers alike are looking to establish new and strategic partnerships on both the theatrical and television sides. With Verve representing some of the best directors and writers in the business, I feel we are uniquely positioned to find new and exciting ways to expand our clients’ reach into the global marketplace.”
Verve’s partners commented, "With the exponential growth and importance of the overseas marketplace, being able to draw from an international viewpoint will be the best way to serve our clients moving forward, and we believe that Amy is the best person to lead the way in this space.”
