Veteran Producer Ruth Caleb to Be Honored At U.K.'s Women In Film And Television Awards
This year's upcoming celebration of female industry input will be hosted by TV personality Sue Perkins.
LONDON – Veteran drama producer Ruth Caleb is to be presented with a lifetime achievement award during this year's Women In Film and Television Awards.
Caleb, whose resume boasts projects across both film and television including films Bullet Boy, starring Ashley Walters and Last Resort with Paddy Considine, will be presented her nod by Julie Walters.
Walters has starred in several Caleb productions including Pat And Margaret, a TV show in which she starred alongside comedy collaborator Victoria Wood and A Short Stay in Switzerland, for which Walters won a TV British Academy award.
Organizers of the 22nd annual celebration of all things female in the entertainment industry also said TV presenter, comedy writer and performer Sue Perkins will host the bash.
The lunchtime awards take place Dec. 7 in central London.
WFTV chief executive Kate Kinninmont, noting the awards are "known for their mix of fun and humor alongside serious recognition of outstanding talent," said Caleb and Perkins summed up the talent quotient on show.
This year there will be fourteen categories including female indie of the year, a business award and a writing award.
