VH1 Do Something Awards 2011: Victoria Justice on Demi Lovato's Powerful Music Influence (Video)
The "Victorious" and "iCarly" star also speaks to THR about her charitable involvements, including the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up project.
Dressed in an eye-catching red dress, Victorious star Victoria Justice voiced her support for the Do Something organization at their annual VH1 awards show, which taped Sunday night.
Justice spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on the blue carpet about her involvement with the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up, and how the Do Something Awards are different than other Hollywood awards show.

“I’m excited that all these really cool people came together for this amazing awards show that is spreading such an important message,” she said. “I hope that other people will get inspired from this and go out and do something themselves.”
As for how Justice is doing something, the 18-year-old has gotten involved with an organization called Girl Up and will be embarking on an awareness trip in the next week.
“Its about spreading awareness to girls in the U.S. about girls in harder to reach countries that are dealing with so many violent issues, that don’t have an opportunity to be educated,” she explained of the charity. “And just being able to spread the word and help give them a better future.”

The actress/singer, who will be busy in the studio recording for her hit Nickelodeon series and her own solo project, also dished on who she feels is the most influential person in music right now.
“I would have to say Demi Lovato is doing a really great job of that,” she admitted. “I think that she’s making a huge difference to other girls that are dealing with similar issues.”
Lovato performed her hit single “Skyscraper” live for the first time at the Do Something Awards, which will be broadcast on VH1 Thursday, Aug. 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The show was hosted by Jane Lynch.
