'V/H/S' Trailer Promises Low Resolution, High Tension (Video)
A cross section of some of the hottest filmmakers in horror, including Ti West, Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, contribute to this found-footage anthology.
A who’s who of the hottest directors in horror showcased their latest work Tuesday with the premiere of the trailer for the anthology V/H/S. A new red-band clip offers just a few highlights from the film’s five vignettes, which are tied together via a wraparound story.

Appropriately, the unifying theme is the medium itself, which, yes, means that the film is a collection of found-footage stories. But producer Brad Miska assembled a top-notch roster of talent behind the cameras, including director Adam Wingard (A Horrible Way to Die, the upcoming You’re Next), Ti West (The Innkeepers, The House of the Devil), David Bruckner (The Signal), Joe Swanberg (Silver Bullets), Glenn McQuaid (I Sell the Dead) and newcomers Radio Silence. While many of these filmmakers wrote their own stories, A Horrible Way to Die writer-director Simon Barrett penned two of the vignettes.
Because it’s an unrated trailer, it features both gore and nudity, although the action is so cacophonous that you’ll be hard-pressed to see anything too revealing. But after its high-profile debut at Sundance where it earned widespread praise from genre and mainstream press alike, the trailer can only intensify interest among audiences for the film.
Watch the trailer below, which premiered today on Yahoo Movies. V/H/S opens nationwide November 1, 2012.
