Fox News' Keith Ablow: People Could Marry Their Dog Under Revised Marriage Equality Law (Video)
The contributor says that California's decision to replace the words "husband" and "wife" with "spouse" in the state's marriage laws also could lead to polygamy.
Fox News contributor Keith Ablow said the new language in California's marriage equality laws could allow them to marry more than one person — or even their dog.
During a Wednesday segment called "Normal or Nuts?" on Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends, Ablow was asked about California Gov. Jerry Brown's decision to replace the words "husband" and "wife" with "spouse" in the state's marriage laws.
"Get ready for the cards and letters — [it's] nuts," said Ablow, a psychiatrist who had his own daily talk show in 2006-07.
"Here's the thing, the states need to get out of the marriage business," Ablow said, adding: "There's no way that the state of California can deny a marriage license to four spouses now. Eight spouses, or I would say three human spouses and the canine they absolutely love because if love is the foundation of marriage, they can love their dog, too."
