Emmys 2015: The Trick to Viola Davis' On-Point Polish
The Emmy winner and her daughter did their nails together pre-show. Aww.
Viola Davis got us all teary-eyed during her moving (and history-making!) acceptance speech for lead actress in a drama on Sunday night. And to top it all off, she was the picture of perfection, too, in a Carmen Marc Valvo beaded gown, with a flawless manicure to match.
Artist Julie Kandalec opted for Essie's Licorice shade ($8.50) for the occasion, finished with a shiny, gel-setter top coat to showcase the rich color.
"We wanted a really elegant, elongated look," says Kandalec. And Davis' wasn't the only one who received VIP treatment from Kandalec pre-awards show. After Davis was done, her four-year old daughter, Genesis Tennon, hopped in the chair for a pedicure, too, opting for the aptly named purple shade, "Play Date." Like mother, like daughter!
