Beyonce to Perform at 2016 MTV Video Music Awards

Beyonce is in for a big night: She’s nominated for 11 awards at this year's kudocast.

Beyoncé fans are in for an unexpected treat at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards. The singer will be performing at this year’s VMAs, MTV announced in a tweet on Sunday afternoon.

The news was kept a secret until the day of the ceremony, though the Los Angeles Times reported days prior that Beyonce "has been in top-secret rehearsals."

Beyoncé, with her visual album Lemonade, is in for a big night: She’s nominated for 11 awards at the kudocast.

Confirmed performers at the 2016 MTV VMAs include Rihanna — who will perform the opening number — as well as Britney Spears, Future, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas with Ty Dolla $ign and the Chainsmokers with Halsey.

The VMAs air Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
