VOD package tips hat to Sundance
EmptySundance Channel has created an exclusive video-on-demand package customized for participating cable operators for January.
In celebration of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, the package is titled "Festival Favorites" and features 10 films that debuted at previous Sundance festivals, four of which will be offered in HD VOD. Each film program opens with an introduction by fest director Geoff Gilmore in which he discusses what is unique about the particular title and reveals why it was selected for the festival.
Participating operators are Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, Brighthouse Networks, and Mediacom; titles include "Down to the Bone," "Easy," "Eve & the Fire Horse" and "I for India."
In addition, Sundance said it has signed a yearlong branded entertainment and sponsorship agreement with Stella Artois, beginning with the title sponsorship of "31 Days of Sundance," the network's monthlong salute to the film festival, in January.
