Vodafone Spain dials up World Cup deal

Clients can watch all 64 matches live on their cell phones

MADRID -- Vodafone Spain's clients will be able to watch all 64 matches of the World Cup live on their cell phones thanks to a deal announced Wednesday that includes rights holder Sogecable's 24-hour soccer channel Canal Plus Liga in the mobile networks offer.

The deal, signed between Vodafone Spain and Sogecable's satellite platform Digital Plus, sees content designed specifically for the small screen and includes Canal Plus' A-team of commentators for each game.

The Digital Plus Movil service will cost €1.50 ($1.80) per week, with a free-week trial offer, starting June 11, coinciding with the kick-off of the first match between South Africa and Mexico.
