Christine Cavanaugh, Voice Actress for 'Dexter's Laboratory' and 'Rugrats,' Dies at 51
Cavanaugh voiced characters in dozens of television shows and films
Voiceover actress Christine Cavanaugh, who played the pig in Babe, Dexter in Cartoon Network’s Dexter’s Laboratory and Chuckie Finster in Nickelodeon’s Rugrats, has died at the age of 51.
Cavanaugh died on Dec. 22, her family announced. Details surrounding her death were not immediately available.
She grew up in Utah and attended Utah State University and the University of Hawaii before moving to California to pursue her acting career, according to her obituary.
During her career, Cavanaugh voiced characters in dozens of television shows and films, including Disney’s Darkwing Duck and Aladdin, Nickelodeon’s Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Wild Thornberrys and The Rugrats Movie, Universal’s Balto and Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls.
Cavanaugh retired from voiceover acting in 2001. Nancy Cartwright took over as the voice of Chuckie in Rugrats.
