W2 Media Takes North American Rights to Alexandre Rockwell's 'Pete Smalls Is Dead' (Cannes)

CANNES -- W2 Media has picked up North American distribution rights to the comedy Pete Smalls Is Dead, directed by Alexandre Rockwell.

Peter Dinklage, Tim Roth, Seymour Cassell, Rosie Perez, Steve Buscemi and Mark Boone Jr. star in the movie about two pals attending an old friend’sfuneral.

Rockwell also wrote and produced the film with Brandon Cole. Producing alongside Rockwell and Cole were Floyd Byars, Paul Hudson, Dan Keston, JenLi and Sean-Michael Smith.

W2 Media, the new film distribution, financing and international sales company operating out of Los Angeles and Vancouver, is planning an October theatrical release, president and CEO John Flock said.

Earlier in the week, the company also acquired all U.S. distribution rights to the British coming-of-age comedy/drama Toast, starring Helena Bonham Carter, Ken Stott, Victoria Hamilton, Freddie Highmore and Oscar Kennedy, which it will open theatrically June 11 in New York.
