NEW YORK -- ESPN has hired former ABC News producer and Rolling Stone editor Robert Wallace as vp at ESPN Original Entertainment.

Wallace will be the unit's senior executive in New York working to determine the creative and strategic vision in documentary and unscripted projects. He will report to EOE senior vp Ron Semiao.

His resume in print publishing and TV includes serving as a senior producer for Diane Sawyer at "Primetime Live" from 1993-97, editor in chief of St. Martin's Press from 1997-99, editorial director of Talk magazine from 1999-2002 and editor of Men's Journal magazine and editor in chief of Wenner Books from 2002-05. He started a media consulting company, Tumbling Dice Media, in 2005. His clients include ESPN.

Wallace won an Emmy in 1997 for a segment on the Ndoki rain forest in Africa. He has also worked at Rocky Mountain Magazine, the Denver Post and Newsweek and was editor of Rolling Stone from 1986-93.
