Wallach joins BBC Worldwide America
Wallach, who has been vp programming at Lifetime since 2001, will oversee the development of unscripted programs, focusing on the cable industry. Her appointment becomes effective after the first of the year.
The move follows BBC Worldwide America’s initiative to expand its Los Angeles production operation, which is producing “Dancing With the Stars” and the upcoming “Dance War” for ABC; “Viva Laughlin,” which premieres Thursday on CBS; and NBC’s upcoming “Clash of the Choirs.”
“We are thrilled that our flourishing production business ... is expanding to New York, with a focus on the cable industry,” BBC Worldwide America president Garth Ancier said. “We couldn’t be more pleased that Allison is joining us.”
At Lifetime, Wallach played a role in developing scripted and unscripted programming, including the dramas “Strong Medicine” and “Any Day Now.” She also worked on the network’s freshman series “Army Wives,” “State of Mind” and “Side Order of Life” and the upcoming reality series “Matt Titus: Matchmaker.”
In her new role, she will report to executive vp content and production Paul Telegdy.
“Allison brings with her a decade of experience from one of the country’s top cable players,” he said. “We are delighted to have this caliber of person on board as we roll up our sleeves and take our production business to the next level.”
