Warner Bros. CTO Leaving for Multiplatform Video Services Provider Vubiquity
Warner Bros. Entertainment CTO Darcy Antonellis is leaving to become CEO of multiplatform video services provider Vubiquity. She starts her new job on Jan. 2.
Antonellis also is currently the president of technical operations for Warner Bros. Entertainment. She previously worked in broadcast television, production and distribution at Fox Television and CBS, among other companies. She has won three Emmys, two for technical production of the 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics.
"In a fast-moving and constantly changing industry, Vubiquity has long distinguished itself as a leader in the areas of technology, strategy and marketing," Antonellis said in a statement. "And with a greater number of content and service providers looking for leadership as multiplatform viewing becomes the norm, we have an opportunity to bring increased value to our customer base as we extend our market position. I look forward to working with the Vubiquity team to capitalize on these market forces and consumer trends. All of our efforts will continue to be explicitly focused in support of our clients' strategic goals, which ultimately drive consumer media and entertainment consumption."
Vubiquity's board chairman Phil Herget added: "Darcy brings to Vubiquity a proven record of identifying opportunities and driving growth by leveraging the disruptive nature of technology. As a visionary leader with deep understanding of the media industry, she is a great choice to lead Vubiquity into its next stage of growth, to meet the needs of our customers, employees and investors."
Antonellis, who will also become a member of Vubiquity's board of directors, replaces former CEO Ramu Potarazu, who stepped down in March and currently serves as vice chairman of Vubiquity's board of directors.
Vubiquity is the largest global provider of multiplatform video services. The company works with content owners and service providers in the areas of VOD, TV Everywhere, linear content delivery, advanced advertising and data services.
