Harry Potter fans will get the chance to witness firsthand the magic behind the movies beginning in spring 2012 when Warner Bros. opens the doors of its U.K.-based Leavesden facility to the public, the Hollywood studio announced Thursday.
Set to open in time for the Olympics, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter will include a three-hour walking tour of the sets and a museum offering a close up look at the costumes, props and other behind-the-scenes movie magic from all eight of the Harry Potter films, which were shot at Leavesden, which is located approximately 20 miles outside of London. The Great Hall at Hogwarts and headmaster Dumbledore's office are among the featured sites.
The world premiere of the final installment of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, will take place July 7 in London's Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square, and the film will open wide on July 15.
