Warner Music Group Names Cameron Strang CEO Of Warner/Chappell
The company has also acquired his Southside Independent Music Publishing.
NEW YORK - Warner Music Group on Tuesday named music industry entrepreneur Cameron Strang CEO of its music publishing firm Warner/Chappell Music and said it has acquired his Southside Independent Music Publishing.
The appointment was announced by Warner Music chairman and CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. and David Johnson, who has so far led Warner/Chappell as chairman and CEO.
Johnson will retain the chairman title until July 1 when he will depart, and Strang will take on that added role. Strang will be based in LA.
Southside was behind such recent hits as B.o.B.'s Nothin’ on You and K'Naan's Wavin' Flag.
Financial terms of its acquisition were not disclosed.
