Warner Restructures Nordic Distribution in Post-Sandrew Era

Signs new distribution deals in Scandinavia with Fox International and local giant Svensk.

BERLIN -- Warner Bros. Pictures International has signed new distribution deals in Scandinavia with Fox International and local giant Svensk to replace Warner's defunct agreement with Sandrew Metronome.

Sandrew last month cancelled its output deal with Warners for Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The pan-Scandi film group is restructuring and shutting down much of its film operations in the region.

Fox will now take on Warner Bros. titles for the Swedish market while Svensk will handle Norway, Denmark and Finland for the studio.

Fox already cooperates with Warner in several international territories.

The new deals kick in April 1, in time for the summer release of Warners' Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the final edition in the blockbuster franchise.
