COLOGNE, Germany -- Hamburg-based telecom HanseNet has signed a multi-year VOD deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution to deliver Warner Bros. films over its Alice homeTV broadband service.

The deal, negotiated by Sylvia Rothblum, WBITD's managing director of German-speaking territories, and HanseNet managing director Michele Novelli includes more than 100 titles, among them Oscar-winners "The Departed" and "Happy Feet."

The first VOD titles available via Alice homeTV will be Steven Soderbergh's "The Good German" and Samuel L. Jackson starrer "Snakes on a Plane."

In addition to new releases, the Warner Bros. deal includes such library titles as "The Matrix," "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and "Dr. Zhivago."

The agreement also calls for cooperation between Warners and Alice homeTV to jointly monitor and confront Internet piracy.

Warner has been particularly active in online distribution in Germany. In addition to licensing its films to third parties, the studio operates its own peer-to-peer distribution platform in2movies with Germany's Bertelsmann.
