John Moffitt, lead scenic artist at Warner Bros. for the past 20 years, has been named associated executive director of the Art Directors Guild of IATSE Local 800.

"Besides his exquisite understanding of the work of scenic artists, John has also worked with some of the best motion picture art directors in the business," ADG executive director Scott Roth said. "So John brings a wealth of superb craftsmanship as well as the judgment, experience and temperament necessary to discharge successfully all the duties of his new position."

Moffitt has painted murals at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu, the Cerritos Library and the Samuel Goldwyn Museum in Hollywood as well as in many foreign locations, including Cannes and Shanghai. Collectors of his work have included Walter Matthau, Carol Burnett, Bob Hope, Jaclyn Smith and Alan Pakula.

Separately Tuesday, the ADG said the Costume Designers Guild IATSE Local 892 has entered a six-year lease to occupy the first floor of a three-story building the ADG owns in Studio City. The ADG has its offices elsewhere in the building.
