Watch Aziz Ansari Dramatically Read Guys' Bad First Texts to Girls

NBC
Aziz Ansari and Jimmy Fallon

"You look like a piece of good god, wrapped up in some have mercy and a side [of] MM!"

Aziz Ansari peeked into people's phones for his new book.

The comedian and author of Modern Romance, out Tuesday, noted on Monday's Tonight Show that the first text exchange between two people is pivotal, yet so often messed up.

"It was really surprising, the kind of bozo texts a lot of dudes send," he explained. "Most dudes are writing very weird things, or just saying 'Hey.' "

Then, alongside a slew of lit candles, Ansari and Jimmy Fallon read viewers' text messages aloud. Lessons learned: don't use the word "texty," always proofread, and try hard not to confuse "horror" and "honor."

Also, keep it short, and maybe don't include "You look like a piece of good god, wrapped up in some have mercy and a side [of] MM!"
