The president was the first to address the group during his first year in office since Reagan.

Donald Trump spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday, becoming the first president to address the group during his first year in office since Ronald Reagan in 1981.

Trump first appeared at CPAC six years ago, when he was best-known for his role as host of The Apprentice. He returned in subsequent years, including in 2015, where he indicated he was strongly considering running for president, but skipped last year's gathering.

The president's remarks follow appearances by other members of the Trump administration on Thursday, including Kellyanne Conway, Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus and Vice President Mike Pence.
