Watch Drake Announce Starting Lineup at Toronto Raptors NBA Game
The hip-hop showman called Kyle Lowry the "Baby-Faced Assassin" and Dwane Casey the "best-dressed man in the NBA"
Hip-hop star Drake, who knows his way around a microphone, set the pulses of 19,800 NBA fans to racing Wednesday night when he introduced the starting lineup for the Toronto Raptors-Brooklyn Nets game in Toronto.
Hosting his second annual Drake Night at the Air Canada Center, the Canadian actor turned rapper called Jonas Valanciunas "Big Science," Kyle Lowry the "Baby-Faced Assassin" and head coach Dwane Casey the "best-dressed man in the NBA."
Drake, who was caught on camera lint-rolling his pants at an NBA playoff game involving the Raptors and Nets earlier this year, handed out shoes and OVO-brand Raptors T-shirts to his fans. And he had his DJ, Future the Prince, performed a brief set during the halftime intermission.
Drake rose to fame in Canada as a child actor on the long-running teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. On Wednesday night, he was rewarded for his presence: The red-hot Raptors defeated the Nets 105-89.

Dec. 18, 10:31 a.m. A previous version of this article included video of Drake announcing the starting lineup before a game last season, on Jan. 11, 2014. Also, Dwane Casey was identified as a player for the Raptors, not the coach. THR regrets the error.
