WBTV ups Melinda Hage to exec vp
Will continue to head current programming in studio revamp
Studio veteran Melinda Hage has been promoted to executive vp current programming. She will continue to oversee WBTV's slate of on-air series and run the studio's current department, reporting to Roth. He praised her "great creative instincts and strong relationships with our producers and network partners."
In the new setup, Hage and Susan Rovner, who recently was promoted to executive vp development, will serve as Roth's top lieutenants on the programming side, with Rovner overseeing development and Hage shepherding current series.
The new structure is being put in place in light of the pending departure of studio veteran Leonard Goldstein, who was executive vp creative affairs. Goldstein is set to segue into a TV head role at Fake Empire, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's new company.
Hage has headed WBTV's current department as senior vp current programming since 2002.
She and her department manage programming for more than 20 scripted series for broadcast and cable, including "Two and a Half Men," "The Vampire Diaries," "The Mentalist" and "The Closer."
