Johnny Cash is no longer the only man in black facing burning rings of fire. After winning the award for favorite soul/R&B album earlier in the evening, The Weeknd gave a fiery performance at the 2015 American Music Awards.
The performer thrilled fans and fellow artists alike with his song "The Hills," the second single off of his latest album, Beauty Behind the Madness. In September, the artist replaced himself atop the Billboard Hot 100 when "The Hills" took the No. 1 spot from his previous single, "Can't Feel My Face."
Dressed all in black (save for a pair of white high-tops) and singing in front of burning arches on a stage lined with flames, The Weeknd had Justin Bieber entranced, as if he were staring into a human bonfire. Meghan Trainor and Wiz Khalifa were also on their feet, singing along.
Last month, The Weeknd surprised fans by bringing out Nicki Minaj in the middle of his performance of "The Hills" on Saturday Night Live. Minaj raps a verse in the song's official remix.
