Weird Al Yankovic Releases Video for Parody of Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' (Video)
The clip for the song, titled "Perform This Way," features Yankovic in several of Gaga's iconic costumes, including the bubble dress.
Weird Al Yankovic released the video to his parody of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" on Monday.
The clip for the song, titled "Perform This Way," features Yankovic in several of Gaga's iconic costumes, including the bubble dress. It also includes several shots of Yankovic in a skimpy two-piece.
At one point, Yankovic sings: "I'm so completely original" while in a cone-bra bustier and blonde wig, during which a Madonna impersonator appears dressed in the same outfit and Yankovic shoves her out of the shot.
It seemed at one point the parody wouldn't happen. Earlier this year, Yankovic blogged that he had asked Gaga's management team if he could cover the song and that her team had told him she said no.
But it turned out that Gaga's manager hadn't actually forwarded her the song.
"Even though we assumed that Gaga herself was the one making the decision (because, well, that's what we were TOLD), he apparently made the decision completely on his own, without any input from Gaga," he wrote. "He's sorry."
The song is on his new album, Alpocalypse, and he has said "all my proceeds from the song (and the MUSIC VIDEO... I can't wait...) will go to the Human Rights Campaign."
Lady Gaga also later gave Yankovic the OK to parody her song "Poker Face," part of a medley called "Polka Face."
