A distinguished group of comedy writers and writer-directors gathered at the Harmony Gold Theater earlier this month to expound on their craft at the Writers Guild of America's "The Serious Business of Writing Comedy" panel, moderated by Hollywood Reporter deputy film editor Anne Thompson. In attendance were writer Michael Arndt ("LIttle Miss Sunshine"); writer-director Jason Reitman ("Thank You For Smoking"); writer-director James L. Brooks ("As Good As It Gets," "The Simpsons Movie"); writer-director Nancy Meyers ("The Holiday," "Something's Gotta Give"); and writer Aline Brosh McKenna ("The Devil Wears Prada").
