What Designers Vivienne Westwood and Viktor & Rolf Did in Cannes

While Brit designer Westwood partied with Pamela Anderson, the Dutch design duo celebrated their new fall jewelry line with Atelier Swarovski.

They now frequent film festivals, awards ceremonies and international art fairs: fashion designers stay famous by turning up in all the right (photo-op) places. Vivienne Westwood blew into Cannes to host the launch of old pal Pam Anderson's first foundation for animal rights and ecological issues -- not unlike her own foundation, Cool Earth, which focuses on preserving rainforest villages.

The Friday night fete was held on a yacht and featured a backgammon tournament. Anderson has walked Westwood's past runway shows and appeared in her ad campaigns -- and of course, her clothes -- so it was a natural fit. "I love Cannes!" Anderson gushed. "It's a dream come true to launch my names foundation on the Riviera." Westwood concurred: "This is the perfect place to raise awareness about issues that are the opposite of glamorous."

Across town, Dutch design duo Viktor (Horsting) & Rolf (Snoeren) celebrated their new fall jewelry collection for Atelier Swarovski, featuring stones covered in grey velvet -- they're calling it Velvet Rock and Frozen Crystal. The avant garde designers first walked the red carpet of How to Train Your Dragon 2 with Nadja Swarovski, then moved on to L'Erin to party with fashionistas including model Liya Kebede.
