'Whistleblower' Wins Audience Award at Whistler Film Fest
The Rachel Weisz-Vanessa Redgrave political thriller had won the jury prize earlier during the festival.
TORONTO -- The Whistleblower, a political thriller by Larysa Kondracki that stars Rachel Weisz and Vanessa Redgrave, nabbed the audience award at the Whistler Film Festival, organizers said Wednesday.
The Canadian movie, to be released stateside by Samuel Goldwyn Films, earlier won the juried Borsos competition at Whistler, which wrapped its 10th edition on Sunday.
The thriller, which also stars Monica Bellucci and David Strathairn, bowed in Toronto before recording a series of international sales at the AFM market.
The 2010 Whistler Film Festival screened showcased in all 68 films, including nine world premieres and five North American premieres.
