Whitney Houston's Daughter, Bobbi Kristina, Reveals Engagement to 'Adopted' Brother
The 19-year-old makes the announcement on the family’s Lifetime reality series, “The Houstons: On Our Own.”
Bobbi Kristina has an announcement to make.
The daughter of Whitney Houston reveals her engagement to "adopted" brother Nick Gordon during the series premiere, airing Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 9 p.m. But the 19-year-old’s news is not happily received by her family.
In a preview clip for the show, obtained by E! News, Bobbi Kristina nervously tells her elders: “We’re engaged!”Aunt Pat Houston, manager and executor of Whitney’s estate, responds with, “Unacceptable.”
“They want to see us fail,” Bobbi Kristina tells the cameras. “I got one thing to say: You won’t.”
Rumors had long circulated about the young couple's reported engagement, but Bobbi Kristina previously denied them. The romance raised eyebrows due to the nature of the duo's relationship. Gordon was informally adopted by Whitney Houston when he was just 12 years old and raised as one of her own children.
The reality series, announced merely three months after the later singer’s sudden death, will premiere on Lifetime on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 9 p.m.
