Meet Alessandra Garcia-Lorido, the Model You're About to See Everywhere
From Lane Bryant's clapback campaign to Christian Siriano's runway and even Dakota Fanning's Instagram, here's the scoop on the up-and-coming supe in the making.
Over the past few years, names like Ashley Graham, Robyn Lawley and Iskra Lawrence have joined the same league as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner — a sure sign of the changing tide of the fashion industry.
The plus-size (role) model you should be prepared to see on the regular: Alessandra Garcia-Lorido. The 25-year-old had quite the busy September, walking in Christian Siriano's groundbreaking New York Fashion Week show, starring in Lane Bryant's confrontational campaign alongside Orange Is the New Black's Danielle Brooks, Empire's Gabourey Sidibe and Graham, and landing a spot in Wet 'n' Wild's "Generations of Wild" ads with Ireland Basinger-Baldwin (daugher of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger) and Corinne Foxx (daughter of Jamie Foxx).
Following this streak, the size-12 beauty, who has been photographed for Vanity Fair Mexico and Vogue Italia, is a model to watch. Here, five things to know about Garcia-Lorido.
1. She's signed with IMG New York, Natural Models L.A., Milk Management London and d'management Milan.
She keeps busy, to be sure.
2. She counts Dakota Fanning among her close gal pals.
The pair of L.A. natives regularly posts photos with one another, and also show their support for each other's projects on social media.
3. She is the daughter of actor Andy Garcia.
She is one of the Cuban Godfather actor's four children.
4. She's a body positivity activist.
Much like her contemporaries, Lawrence and Graham, Garcia-Lorido has used her platform to spread the message that every body is beautiful.
5. In addition to fronting for Lane Bryant and Christian Siriano, she's also starred in ads for Wet 'n' Wild, Forever 21 and H&M.
She knows the hustle.
