Whoopi Goldberg, Jackie Collins and Ivana Trump Sign up For U.K. Cooking Show 'Choccywoccydoodah'
The trio are among the names to be featured on the show as celebrities setting challenges for cake-makers on both sides of the Atlantic.
LONDON – Whoopi Goldberg, Jackie Collins, Ivana Trump and Julien Macdonald will be among the names setting bespoke cake challenges for a team of world-class chocolatiers as they travel across the U.K. and the US for the latest outing for cooking show Choccywoccydoodah.
Billed as an observational documentary series, each episode will feature a different celebrity who will devise a concept for an extraordinary cake which will then be unveiled at their own high profile or showbiz event.
U.K. food channel Good Food has commissioned the show from Twofour Broadcast giving the show a working title of Choccywoccydoodah Star Challenge and pitching it as 2013 first quarter show for its schedule.
Commissioned by UKTV's director of commissioning Jane Rogerson and ordered by Good Food’s general manager Clare Laycock, the show will be on senior commissioning editor Tess Cuming's watch.
Good Food has ordered ten 60 minute episodes of the celebrity version of the show.
Laycock said Choccywoccydoodah had been a great success for Good Food being the second highest rating commission on the channel since 2008.
"We know that the series appeals not only to food lovers but also to a younger audience, and this is part of the channel’s commitment to providing entertainment led content for our peak hour programming," Laycock said.
Choccywoccydoodah Star Challenge is overseen by Cuming with Twofour Broadcast’s Linda Parkhurst as series producer and Juliet Rice as executive producer.
The third series of Choccywoccydoodah, which premiered on Good Food in July 2012, reached 905,000 adults and just over one million individuals, UKTV said.
UKTV is an independent commercial joint venture between BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, and Scripps Networks Interactive Inc.
