'William and Kate' TV Movie Sells Worldwide

The royal wedding is expected to be one of the biggest TV events of all time, with around 2.5 billion viewers worldwide.

BERLIN -- Global buyers are head over heels for William & Kate, the Lifetime TV movie on the real-life love story of England's Prince William and Kate Middleton.

A host of European networks, including Germany's Sat.1, RAI in Italy, Spain's Antena 3, Norway´s TV 2, SBS Denmark, SIC in Portugal and Pro Plus in Slovenia have snatched up broadcast rights to the MOW from sales outfit SevenOne International.

SevenOne had previously locked up several big Euro territores including France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

Buyers are hoping to capitalize on interest surround the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton later this year.

The royal wedding, which will be aired mainly on public broadcasters in Europe, is expected to be one of the biggest TV events of all time, with around 2.5 billion viewers expected worldwide.
