"Second Wind," a French gangster film from director Alain Corneau, will be the opening-night film at the second RomaCinemaFest, event organizers said.

The unfinished film, Corneau's 20th full-length feature, will screen in competition at the festival, which begins Oct. 18 and concludes nine days later.

It will be the first time a major Italian festival will feature a competition screening of a film from Corneau, who has received two Berlin Golden Bear nominations and one Palme d'Or nomination during his 40-year career.

Daniel Auteuil and Monica Bellucci star in the French- language thriller.
