WMA, Beverly Bridge feel the spirit of '77'
EmptyThe William Morris Agency/Hannaywood's Beverly Bridge Fund will complete financing on Patrick Read Johnson's autobiographical indie "77," which chronicles the director's journeys in Hollywood with George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.
The film, originally titled "5/25/77" after the release date of "Star Wars," is a nostalgic take on the director's encounters with Industrial Light + Magic execs. John Francis Daley stars.
BBF will provide the film with $200,000 in funding and prep it for a Toronto debut, with sales repped by WMI.
"It's an 'American Graffiti'–style film about the people who made 'American Graffitti,'" William Morris Independent's Cassian Elwes said. (partialdiff)
