SINGAPORE -- WMA has agreed to hold a series of master classes in Singapore in association with the country's Media Development Authority in a first-of-its-kind deal between the agency and a government body.

The announcement was made Wednesday on the opening day of the annual Asia Television Forum programming market here.

The WMA-MDA Masterclass Series will hold four events in 2008, beginning in the first quarter.

Details of master class formats or guests have not yet been finalized, William Morris Asia managing director Grace Chen said.

During his opening address earlier in the day, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Dr. Lee Boon Yang highlighted the importance of enlarging the country's talent pool "to meet the needs of the media ecosystem."
