WME Agent Alec Botnick Joins CBS TV Studios' Comedy Team
The lit agent has been named vp of comedy development.
CBS Television Studios is adding to its comedy team, naming WME TV lit agent Alec Botnick vice president of comedy development.
“We are so excited that Alec will be joining the comedy team," said CBS TV Studios exec vp of comedy development Kate Adler. "Having spent the past 13 years at WME, he has great relationships, a fresh perspective on development, and a really good handle on the comedy landscape. In addition, at 6’2”, he brings the height our department has been sorely lacking.”
In his new job, Botnick will report directly to Adler.
He'd been with WME since the 2009 merger, first working in the Endeavor while he was at Loyala Law School. His clients included Loren Bouchard, Cristela Alonzo, Grace Helbig, Riki Lindholm, Kate Micucci and Barry Sonnenfeld.
CBS TV Studios' original offerings currently skew dramatic, but it does have several sitcoms. The studio has recent CBS breakout The Odd Couple and ABC Family's Young & Hungry on the schedule — not to forget hour-long comedy Jane the Virgin on the CW.
