WME Launches Pop-Up Bookstore

Gimme Books will sell offerings from WME and IMG clients at the merged agency’s sports, fashion and music events.

Two months after WME officially closed on its acquisition of fashion and sports giant IMG, the agency is taking advantage of its newly combined clientele and event portfolio in a — pardon the puns — novel fashion.

The agency has created a pop-up bookstore, Gimme Books, to sell clients’ books at all WME and IMG events going forward — a smart move that will leverage the latter’s significant fashion and sports holdings, such as Fashion Week and Wimbledon. Each incarnation of Gimme Books, which will feature appearances and signings by its author clients, will be customized for the specific site.

The first iteration of Gimme Books kicked off last weekend at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami, where Maria Menounos met fans and signed copies of her New York Times best-seller The EveryGirl’s Guide to Diet and Fitness along with fellow clients, stylist Gretta Monahan (Style and the Successful Girl) and chef Candice Kumai (Clean Green Drinks).
