WME Signs 'Orange Is the New Black' Alum Pablo Schreiber (Exclusive)
The man formerly known as Pornstache will portray Mad Sweeney in Starz's 'American Gods.'
WME has signed screen and stage actor Pablo Schreiber, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
Schreiber is recognizable to fans of Netflix's Orange is the New Black as former C.O. George "Pornstache" Mendez, a role for which he received an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actor last year. His other accolades include a Drama Desk Award and Tony nomination for the 2006 revival of the play Awake and Sing!, and a Drama Desk win for outstanding featured actor for the off-Broadway production of Neil LaBute's Reasons to Be Pretty.
The British Columbia native is currently filming the long-awaited adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods for Starz. Schreiber is playing the drunken Irish brawler Mad Sweeney, who works for Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). Earlier this year, the actor appeared on the big screen in Michael Bay's Benghazi actioner 13 Hours for Paramount.
