WMI taps Garvey senior vp

LONDON -- Former EMI executive Isabel Garvey has joined Warner Music International in the new role as senior vp new business enterprises.

Based in London, Garvey will be tasked with devising and implementing strategies that will drive the music major's activities in the physical and digital arenas.

She will work alongside the firm's leadership team and WMG's business development group in New York.

"This is a key hire for us as we seek to further strengthen our business by looking beyond traditional revenue streams," comments Patrick Vien, chairman and CEO of WMI, to whom Garvey reports.

"We have already made great progress in pioneering new approaches to monetizing our content through strategic acquisitions and partnerships. Bringing in someone with Isabel's knowledge, experience and vision will enhance our ability to respond to the opportunities for growth around the world," Vien adds.

Until recently, Garvey has served with EMI Music as vp global digital.
