HONG KONG -- Local film industry veteran Nan Wong has joined Sundream Motion Pictures as general manager of distribution, a spokesperson for the two-year-old production and distribution company said Tuesday.

Wong joins Sundream after 20 years service with Intercontinental Film Distributors and will strengthen Sundream's acquisitions of foreign, particularly English-language, titles, a company spokesperson said.

Founded in 2005, Sundream Motion Pictures is a subsidiary of i-Cable Communications, one of Hong Kong's major Internet service providers. Listed both locally and on the NASDAQ in New York, i-Cable also operates a pay TV service including two movie channels.

In the first six months of 2007, Sundream releases have included "Eye in the Sky," the directorial debut of screenwriter Yau Nai-hoi. Fortissimo is handling most world rights, including Japan and Korea, and Sundream is handling the rest of Asia.

Sundream also will team up with mainland China's Huayi Brothers Pictures on the $16 million production "Howling Arrow," to be directed by Sammo Hung.
