Workaholics star and co-creator Anders Holm is in negotiations to join How to Be Single, New Line’s ensemble romantic comedy.

Alison Brie, Dakota Johnson, Rebel Wilson, Leslie Mann and Damon Wayans Jr. are already on the call sheet.

Based on the novel by Liz Tuccillo, Single explores the lives of a group of single New Yorkers with different views and approaches to dating.

Holm will play a 30-something bartender who happens to be a ladies’ man with an acerbic wit. Holm will be stepping into the shoes vacated by Dan Stevens, for whom scheduling issues arose when he signed on to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

Christian Ditter is directing.

Single continues the budding movie side of Holm’s career. He was recently seen in Chris Rock’s Top Five, Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's The Interview.

He will next be seen starring alongside Cobie Smulders in Unexpected, which premiered at Sundance, as well as Warners’ The Intern alongside Anne Hathaway and his Workaholics co-star Adam DeVine. The movie opens on Sept. 25.

Workaholics, on which he also serves as writer and producer, just wrapped season five.

Holm is repped by WME, Avalon Management, and Morris Yorn.
