UPDATED: The social network has had more interactions around the soccer tournament than any other event it has measured.

Facebook has World Cup fever.

The soccer tournament has prompted more Facebook conversations than any other event the social network has measured, data released Friday shows.

In its first week, there have been more Facebook interactions about the 2014 World Cup than there were about this year's Oscars, Super Bowl and Winter Olympics combined.

Specifically, 141 million people had 459 million interactions (posts, comments and likes) about the soccer tournament from June 12-18 on Facebook. Super Bowl XVIII prompted 185 million interactions from 50 million people; the Winter Olympics had 120 million interactions from 45 million people; and the Oscars had 25.4 million interactions from 11.3 million people.

Geographically, the most World Cup Facebook conversations are happening in the tournament's base of Brazil, with the United States in second place followed by the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Mexico.
